George Jackson - Blood in My Eye-Random House (1971).pdf
Short Biography on the author
George Jackson lived from ages 19 to 29 in the San Quentin Prison System. He was given an indeterminate sentence (one year to life) for stealing $70 from a gas station armed with a weapon in 1961. While inside prison, he spent seven out of ten years in solitary confinement because of how effectively he organized other inmates. He dedicated himself to reading revolutionist texts and politicized himself and those around him. Jackson was shot to death by a guard in 1971, which sparked the month-long rituals practiced in Black August (fast, train, study, fight).
